ZHEJIANG, China — Output of disposable toilet brush refill heads at a Zhejiang-based cleaning products manufacturer has reached approximately 2,000 pieces per day, according to the company's latest production report, as distributors in Europe and North America continue to shift their bathroom cleaning ranges from reusable bristle brushes to single-use refill systems.

The refill head is the recurring component of a disposable toilet brush: a handle is bought once, while sealed replacement heads are sold in packs of 10 or boxes of 60. That structure is what makes the category attractive to importers, because repurchase volume sits with the consumable rather than the tool.

The manufacturer reports that daily output is the sum of four linked processes, each with its own capacity limit:

• Sponge conversion — PP sponge fibre is cut to the 6''×6'' head format.
• Clip and backing-plate moulding — the snap-fit clip that determines whether a head stays fixed during scrubbing.
• Assembly and colour batching — blue, white, green, pink and mixed cartons are batched separately to prevent colour transfer inside the bag.
• Hygiene bagging — individually sealed sleeves, then packed 10 per bag or 60 per box.

1. Clip retention test — a mounted head is pulled at load and must not release during a scrubbing cycle.
2. Wet compression test — soaked heads are compressed repeatedly to measure flattening after multiple uses.
3. Abrasion test on glazed tile — confirms the sponge does not scratch porcelain, the most common end-user complaint.
4. Seal integrity check — an unsealed hygiene sleeve would invalidate the single-use hygiene claim at retail.

Importers placing refill head orders in the current season are reported to be requesting dated production video, current material and colour-fastness test reports with the issuing laboratory named, and mixed-colour sample sets for clip testing on their own handles before confirming a purchase order. Suppliers unable to provide those items are being screened out during sampling.

The manufacturer also notes a limitation worth passing to buyers: disposable refill heads are not the right specification where heavy limescale removal on stone or unglazed ceramic is required, or where the destination market lacks a suitable waste stream for single-use cleaning products. In those cases a long-handle bristle brush or a reusable microfibre system remains the better fit.

Refill head orders currently start at 2,400 pieces, roughly one pallet, with production scheduling 15–20 working days after colour and artwork confirmation and payment by T/T. Mixed-colour sample sets and specification sheets for purchase-order attachment are available on request. Specifications, lead times and pricing are subject to change with colour, packing and print requirements, and should be confirmed in a signed purchase order before deposit payment.
